We’re teaming up with our Edinburgh pals TrouBle to put on a very special party this summer. Please read the information below, sign up through Paypal and if you have any further questions, email us at hobbes@getintotrouble.com or info@slabsofthetabernacle.com

A TROUBLESLABS OF THE TABERNACLE – GO REBORNBELLE VILLA RENDEZ-VOUS

This is private party, a word-of-mouth-only affair, an intimate type of party for friends and friends-of-friends only and we’d really love it if you could be there to enjoy it with us!

WHERE IS IT?

The location is a surprise, suffice to say it’s in Edinburgh, easily accessible, you will love it and this won’t be the first time it will have been used for an event like this, so you don’t need to worry about whether it will be decent.

MUSIC & DANCING?

We will be using as audiophile a sound system as possible, so we can play music at a suitable volume for dancing and general good times. The music will be provided by the DJs listed below.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?

Please feel free to bring a bottle and/or anything else that will help you to relax. We will also be stocking up the fridge with plenty of booze…

CAN I INVITE MY PALS?

Everyone is welcome to invite other friends but, as space is limited, we need to keep track of exactly who is coming. For this reason, the guest-list is not currently visible and the only people who can view the event are the invitees.

SO IS IT A FREE PARTY THEN?

The spirit behind this party is much like that at a house party (especially David Mancuso’s classic Loft parties in Seventies New York) but we need to ask everyone to make a contribution of £5.50 to help cover the costs. This is not very much to ask so that everyone can have a great time together. This £5.50 is payable now by paypal (payee: hobbes@getintotrouble.com).

HOW LATE WILL IT RUN?

As late as possible, although this depends on a few variables, so we have set a provisional end-time of 4am.

WHEN WILL I FIND OUT WHERE IT’S HAPPENING?

All will be revealed when the time is right….

MUSIC TO BE PROVIDED BY:

Vintage 909 (electronic live set) aka Daniel Williams (Derevo, Dresden)
Andrew Ingram (Slabs Of The Tabernacle, Glasgow/Liverpool)
Erik d’Viking (Trouble, Edinburgh)
Hobbes (Trouble/Limbo, Edinburgh)
Joel Shaw (Slabs Of The Tabernacle, Glasgow/Newcastle)
Leonidas (Belle Villa, London)

[this list may be updated}

ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?

The guest-list on the night will be made up of people who have made the requested contribution, to avoid cash transactions on arrival, and we will be hiring security to prevent any unwelcome guests, ensure the night goes off without any trouble etc, so please bear this in mind when spreading the word etc. It will be very much a case of ‘if your name’s not down, you’re not getting in.’

GO REBORN (ART SHOW)

This event also doubles as an after-party for the official opening of #GR5-RMX, an exciting new concept for an art exhibition presented by go reborn. The art will be on display for all to view/experience throughout the course of the night:

go reborn invite ten Scotland-based artists to ‘remix’ the landscape paintings of Claudia Massie (ECA, drawing & painting, 2000) in producing work for #GR5-RMX.

Working in line with how modern music releases are passed on to be remixed by a third party, the invited creative is asked to respond to and reinterpret Massie’s original piece. There are no go reborn limitations or guide-lines to how this re-action is to be presented.
