SLABS 100 - Flemming Dalum - Space Odyssey 2010

We wanted to make our 100th mix that bit more special so we asked one of the most famous Italo collectors and master of multi-layered mixes – Flemming Dalum – if he would do it for us. We also requested that he included no Italo in it. He kindly agreed and got stuck in about it, digging through his extensive record collection every night, adding more and more to the length of the mix. A few months later we received much more than we expected – a two and a half hour epic masterpiece to get lost in, time and time again.

The final cut contains many different styles: Disco, Euro Disco, Cosmic, House, Acid, New Beat, Wave, Early Techno and Hip Hop.

Thank you Flemming.

“I ran into “full capacity” on my system !!! - Ableton LIVE couldn’t hold more than this 160 tracks which was split up into over 4300 samples in one session…. so now I know “the TOP limit” :-)

My plan was not to make the most rare mix ever and still give no tracklist. I hope it might inspire people to listen carefully and spot some of those 160 records. It’s been great fun for me to go looking deeper in my collection, in other sections than the Italian.
Anyway I really hope you and everyone will enjoy this adventure….”

    Please post the tracklist. .
There’s some sick stuff on there, would be good to have it in black and white!

This mix is absolutely one of the best from FD ever!
This mix is in fact a journey into time, style and genres. I especially love the New Beat and German selection. In general the mix is very easy listening, but in a positive way. I can hear that Flemming has dived into his old toolbox and recreated some of the basic elements into mixing and edits. Even though that the selection of tracks seems more “light”, i still found some very rare ones! Damn, when will the day come, where he is making a mix with only tracks i know :)
    My conclusion is *****
